PHOENIX A Phoenix mother is suspected of stabbing her three young sons to death and stuffing their partially dismembered bodies in a closet before trying to kill herself at their home, police said Thursday.

Neighbors had often seen the older boys riding their bikes outside the townhome along a winding one-way street in central Phoenix.

Now the 29-year-old mother is in the hospital in critical condition with self-inflicted stab wounds and her sons Jaikare Rahaman, 8, Jeremiah Adams, 5, and Avery Robinson, 2 months old, are dead, Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump said.

The two older boys were found dead in a bedroom closet while the youngest, 2-month-old Avery Robinson, was found further back in the closet, stashed in a suitcase. The bodies were partially dismembered.

The boys’ mother, who may have been pregnant with another child, was rushed to the hospital after she had knifed herself in the abdomen and neck.

She was later identified as 29-year-old Octavia Rogers.

Her youngest child was two months old. I'm sure it's possible to get pregnant so soon after giving birth, but how would she (or anyone) know so quickly?

I am wondering about that too. On her FB page she seemed to love her babies. She seems 'normal.' I feel so awful about the whole brutal situation. I think she had a sudden onset of acute mental issues. Post Partum is a definite possibility.

I guess it's possible she found out she was pregnant and lost it. I guess the stabbing the abdomen it's very telling.
I'm just assuming with 3 kids, all different last names, had all different dad's. Maybe one more was way too much to handle for her.
Such a sad tragedy 😢

You shouldn't accept things you see on facebook at face value.

Source alleges mother was on "spice." There is also a history of reports to child protective services. Children were not removed even though it appears mother didn't participate in programs or services offered.

"McKay said the most recent complaint, involving the drug exposed newborn, had been substantiated, and the case had recently been closed."

Killing 3 children is not a normal reaction to unwanted pregnancy. There are obviously options to not continue with the pregnancy at that early stage, and obviously she couldn't have been far along.

Very true. It fools me sometimes when I see smiling babies and adoring parents...I assume they are happy together and it is not always so...:sigh:

Oh wow. No words.

I know you shouldn't judge life by social media for sure. But usually a messy person w a messy life, well it shows most of the time. Even on social media. This woman really didn't appear that way. So awful.

A mother who is accused of killing her own three sons has booked into jail after being released from a hospital Sunday.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, Octavia Rogers, 29, will be charged with three counts of 1st degree murder after finding the woman's three sons dead inside a Phoenix home earlier this week.

A judge decided Rogers must post a cash-only bond of $1 million in order to be released.
If released, Rogers will be subject to electronic monitoring and will not be allowed to have any weapons or be in contact with minors, a judge said.
