Case History
The deceased was found by a passerby lying in the middle of the roadway unresponsive and on fire.

I was looking for pics of Monica Hewitty while researching a different Jane Doe case.

You suppose???

Pretty close, but the finish looks different. But since the body was burnt, the earrings might have been discolored by the fire.

She was LKA in the same county that the Jane Doe was found. (Bexar)
Her age is right.
Her ethnicity is right.
The facial shape is right.
The only problem is the timeframe (nearly 6 years).

I think she should be submitted.

Yeah, I think you're onto something.

I also think you should send a pointer to the pictures to Hewitty's Namus coordinator. But you've probably already done that [emoji4]

Good work Carl, lots of similarities here.

For what it's worth, though, I don't think the earrings are similar. I worked at a jewelry/accessory store for a few years and it looks like Monica is wearing thick hoop earrings similar to these, albeit much larger:

Just my two cents! I'm still interested to see what you hear back on this comparison.

Hey All! Nice to see you again!
I bought an earring and bracelet set near the jewelry department in wal-mart that's probably the same brand. I know that they're just the cheap metal earrings and bracelets because they tarnished within four hours. They had to be nickel plated metal because they hurt my ears. The only difference is that her "sun earrings" had holes in the middle, where mine are complete "suns." I want to say I bought them at the end of 2014 beginning of 2015. These things run in limited stints because Wal-Mart never seems to carry something for very long.

Error in her Namus profile: identified?

Yes!
Lisa R. Carter

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office sent DNA evidence to the University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center in an effort to identify the woman. This week, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office received a report from UNT notifying them of an association between the remains and a woman named Lisa R. Carter. Using the information, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office was able to obtain the victim's fingerprints and positively identify Carter as the victim.

Odd that they tried DNA but wound up using her fingerprints. I thought that they would've tried that before going through with DNA tests. And I wonder what they did to get her prints, since she was burned beyond recognition.

And does anybody know what this means?...
Fingerprints: Fingerprint information is available elsewhere
Was there something near her body that she touched? How would they know that any fingerprints on file anywhere were hers, since she was a UID that wasn't recognizable?

Nevermind... I found a story that explains it a little.

But I still don't understand how the UID's prints were on file elsewhere unless they already knew who she was. Then she wouldn't be a UID.

Body found burning in Southeast Bexar County last year identified

...a Sheriff’s Office latent print examiner was able to obtain Carter’s fingerprints on file and do a one-on-one comparison of the partial fingerprint recovered from the body.

The comparison led to a positive identification of Carter, authorities said, adding that her family has been notified.

No suspects or any additional details as to the events leading up to Carter’s death have been released by the sheriff’s office.

She may have renewed a Texas driver's license recently. Last time I did, I was fingerprinted.
