Jack and another man who was with the couple checked it out. The boot looked like it was attached to a decomposed human leg. But when Jack and the other man tried to lift the boot, it was heavy. They knew human remains were likely hidden under the murky water. All they could see were leg bones and some tattered fabric tucked into the boot.
Jack said turbulence from the Sea-Doo engine probably caused the boot to surface.

Caldwell says it was a male boot but the body was badly decomposed.
Mounties were called and are now investigating. They havent said if any foul play is suspected.
