Before you participate in the discussion about this terrible tragedy you must understand one single thing...THIS DISCUSSION IS NOT ABOUT GUN CONTROL!

Please, we are having to remove more posts than leave up because everyone is arguing gun control.

As I have said before, the discussion will go nowhere but downhill fast if we discuss gun control. YOU NEED TO STOP OR YOU WILL BE TIMED OUT.

That means any mention of gun control. If I let one mention stay up then I have to let the other side mention's stay up and round and round it goes.

A student at the college where Omar Mateen applied for an intensive six-month law enforcement training program told NBC News Wednesday that the Orlando shooter was rejected from the program in 2015 -- confirming what Mateen's father told NBC News Tuesday.

One student said he saw Mateen on the campus of Indian River State College in spring 2015 and another said that since Sunday's shooting he had been told by an instructor in the IRSC's criminal justice program that Mateen was rejected.

The Florida Dept of Law Enforcement said that Mateen filed a complaint, claiming he was turned away because he was Muslim.

is it ok if i mention that stuff like this san berdino and boston are because our president has handcuffed the FBI from doing its job?

they knew this guy hangs out with terrorist Imams, suicide bombers and he told them himself he wanted to martyr himself in front of them.....but that isnt good enough to arrest a terrorist anymore in this country i guess. becaue of the policies set forth by obama.

2015 video, Mateen declared his own candidacy for the Afghan presidency, even though there was no election at that time.(is that not a hoot opppss)

Siddique, said his son's rampage had "nothing to do with religion."
Mateen would show up at his studio in Canoga Park, California, "three or four times a year" to tape his shows.
"He'd talk for about two to three hours,""He'd buy his own time and come here and broadcast and leave within a day."

It appears as if this image that dad had all this political power and terrorism ackground is totally wrong.

It didn't say. I kinda flew through the article myself. The comment from FLDE was at the end of it.

It seems possible that FLDE could have access to information from his FBI probes or at least had knowledge they existed.

That wouldn't be excluding him because of his religion, but because he could be considered a high risk because of the inflammatory statements that resulted in the first FBI probe.

A psych profile may also have been part of the selection/rejection process. One would hope so.

The program is an accelerated one where candidates ride with officers on duty.

He actually loved gay people and just had a hard way of expressing himself. Is that the acceptable narrative?
 
there's an actual debate as to whether this guy is a terrorist going on here?

i really dont believe it...........the guy is making calls and facebook posts during the attack pledging alliegence to ISIS.

Sure, one can mention it, but it's a perception and interpretation of very complex issues, and the drawn conclusions are erroneous and facile.

A Toronto gay bar is showing its solidarity with the victims of a mass shooting in Orlando by temporarily adopting the signage of the gay nightclub where the horrific crime took place.

On Tuesday, The Beaver, located in the city’s trendy West Queen West neighbourhood, posted a “Pulse” sign in its window designed based on the logo of the Orlando club where 49 people were gunned down Sunday in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

“It’s a reminder that we are still around – we still have our spaces, we still have our bars,” said Rob Shostak, a regular patron at The Beaver who came up with the idea.

According to Shostak, the message is that ‘all queer spaces are Pulse.’

“In the end, every queer space in the city is Pulse, every queer space in the world is Pulse,” Shostak said. “These spaces are not just bars to us; they are community centres and community hubs for queer people.”

Not sure if this has been posted or not but it has more of OM growing up. Very angry & mean child. Doubt there were many who wanted to be friends with him.

He was disciplined 31 times between 1992 and 1999 for numerous disruptions, for striking a student and for disrespectful behavior during his time in St. Lucie County schools, according to documents obtained exclusively by TCPalm.com.

More than half of his discipline write-ups came during the 1996-1997 school year, when he was in fifth grade.
