GA - Porn Found on Fulton Jail Computers

At least 400 pages of pornography were downloaded to computers stationed at the Fulton County Jail, apparently viewed by workers who were supposed to have been watching inmates, a Channel 2 Action News investigation has found.

Fulton officials discovered the incident six months ago but no one has been disciplined in connection with the breach of county policies.

"They need to be working," Sheriff Myron Freeman said. "The taxpayers don't need to pay people for watching pornography."

According to Fulton rules, employees are prohibited from using work computers to view material considered to be adult in nature.

Documents obtained by Channel 2 Action News show that the county's Information Technology department offered to restrict access to adult Web sites from Fulton jail computers but the sheriff's office apparently did not respond to the offer.

The 400 pages downloaded by jail workers who were surfing adult Web sites in April is equal to four 24-hour days in which employees looked at the sites.

Freeman said the probe of the computer activity started at the jail but the activity was found at "other places" as well.

"The trail went on and on so it's still under investigation," he said. "I was really appalled by it."

Just when I think that I have seen the most depraved things a human can do to another human, somebody posts a new story...........

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?

Is this a great big deal? I don't know that it is. If they had been shopping for the holidays online I doubt it would have made the news. Perhaps I missed something - I only skimmed the article.

Now the escapes are a different kettle of fish!
    Above is my opinion only

Well if you think that the taxpayers should be paying the employees of the prisons to sit there and look at pornography instead of watching the inmates as they're hired to do, then I don't suppose that its any big deal. However, it seems to me that a correctional institutional employee has better things to do with his work hours than getting a big fat boner, but I'm funny that way. LOL P.S. I don't think employees should be shopping on work time either.
