    Canada - Josh, 9, & Montana Giesbrecht, 11, Winnipeg, 20 June 2016

Winnipeg police search for 2 missing children

Winnipeg police are searching for two children who were last seen on Monday evening.
Montana Giesbrecht, 11, and Josh Giesbrecht, 9, were last seen at 6 p.m. in the St. James area near Lumsden Avenue.
The children may have received a ride from a person known to them who was driving a small white four-door vehicle, police said. The children were reported missing by their caregivers after the caregivers saw them leave, police said.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of Sandra Giesbrecht, the mother of missing Winnipeg kids Montana and Josh Giesbrecht.
Sandra Giesbrecht had mused about "disappearing with the children" in text messages, according to court documents. A flood of calls have been coming in to police since they asked for tips about the location of the children. Court documents related to the parents' custody dispute said Sandra had sent text messages about taking the children and also had someone following the father. In court, the mother wouldn't confirm or deny sending the messages.

    Hello from Winnipeg
Giesbrecht is a super common last name here (like Smith or Jones). It is possible they are related to each other but they might not be. And correct me if I'm wrong but I think both women are Giesbrecht due to marriage. It could be possible that their husbands are related to each other.

Canada-wide warrant issued for Sandra Giesbrecht, mom of 2 missing Winnipeg kids

Court documents related to the parents' custody dispute said Sandra had sent text messages about taking the children and also had someone following the father.
In court, the mother wouldn't confirm or deny sending the messages.

The documents also reveal several recent incidents that are under investigation, including one case where two unidentified women were seen in a rental vehicle taking photographs of the children's school.

In another incident, a woman entered the school in April and made contact with the kids in a hallway. When approached by staff, the woman refused to identify herself, court documents say.

In one document, the court described the mother's behaviour as "irrational" and said it "takes these threats seriously. They are disturbing."
The father was supposed to have full custody of the children, but they refused to go with him, according to the documents.
my opinion...........and i happen to agree with it.....

Wow These poor kids. This mother sounds like she's lost her marbles. The lengths she was willing to go to, to have those kids with her and not their dad, is very disturbing. I hope LE finds them quickly and gets them away from her.

I worked for Child and Family Services for 6 years (though I'm no longer in the field because it sucks the life out of you). My heart just breaks reading the court doc.

I just finished reading the court case and I am VERY concerned for these children. To me, it is obvious the mother does not have any interest in what is best for their children and is interested in only herself. I am worried she will "win" at any cost. Those poor things!

Holy moly Pink! That was quite a read! What a mess. The damage that's been done to those poor kids emotionally is heartbreaking. It's been about 72 hours since she took them and I agree with you, I'm very concerned about the children and their safety. She appears to be completely unstable!

Thanks Rizo for posting the link to the case.
