Police said they did not know who fired the weapon.

The property is adjacent to Conococheague Creek, according to the reporter.

Clicking on the pic of the house this is under that. It appears the barn and home are not at the same location.

A house stands in the 11000 block of Welsh Run Road near a Mercersburg-area barn where a man and a woman were found dead from gunshot wounds.

When troopers arrived on scene, they found Wendy Chaney, 39, of Hagerstown, Maryland, and a Brandon Cole, 47, of Fayetteville, both dead from a gunshot wound.
Phillip Jackson, 36, of Greencastle, was severely injured from a gunshot wound. He was flown to York Hospital for treatment.
Jackson later died from his injuries.

IDK But i did a search on B Cole in fayetteville and found one age 47 (same as deceased) and he has two (2) incidents/infractions in washington co md, home of hagerstwon where wendy chaney is from.
 
Both Chaney and Cole had history with drug charges in Maryland:

Chaney was free on bond from on a charge of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She had been charged on March 31 in Montgomery County (Md.) District Court. She also had been charged in October in Washington County District Court with possession of CDS and possession with intent to deliver narcotics.
Baltimore City Circuit Court in 2009 placed Cole on probation in 2009 for carrying a handgun in a vehicle. He had been convicted in 2005 in Baltimore of possession of CDS. He also had been charged in 1994 in Baltimore County with armed robbery. His recent charges were for traffic violations.
