GUILTY MO - Grayden Denham, 24, quadruple murder of family members (shot & burned), Edgerton, 19 Feb 2016

Grayden Denham, the 24-year-old man, whose grandparents, sister, and infant nephew were found dead at a home in Edgerton, Mo., in February has now been charged with four counts of 1st degree murder, 4 counts of armed criminal action, animal abuse, arson in the 2nd degree and tampering with physical evidence.

(...) Prosecutors said Denham stole the family car from his grandparents, Russell, 82, and Shirley, 81, Denham. Those two, along with Grayden’s sister, Heather, 32, and 3-month-old nephew, Mason, were found dead at a home in Edgerton, Mo., on Feb. 20.

Days later, police found Denham wandering naked in Arizona. They then located Russell and Shirley Denham's brown Nissan parked at a motel parking lot. Clothes were found outside the car, and Denham's wallet was inside the pants.

Circuit Judge James Van Amburg held a hearing Thursday for Grayden Denham with his attorney, John O’Connor. O’Connor had been representing Denham for allegedly stealing a car, but hadn’t filed to represent him when he was arraigned on murder charges.

(...) the assistant Platte County prosecutor, informed Circuit Judge James Van Amburg the state had offered Denham a plea bargain of life in prison without parole. The deal was to be accepted or rejected by May 4.

Defense attorney John O'Connor said he'd informed the defendant of all plea offers but could neither accept or reject this offer.

The case is set for a trial to begin Monday, June 19. The state must file a notice prior to the trial if it intends to seek the death penalty. The defense could ask for a delay because of the change.

Grayden Lane Denham, 25, is accused in the shooting deaths of his grandparents, his older sister and 3-month-old nephew and then of methodically setting their bodies on fire.

A new jury trial date has been set in 2019 for accused murderer Grayden Denham.

Denham appeared in Platte County Circuit Court last week before judge James Van Amburg. A jury trial was scheduled to begin Monday, April 22, 2019. An additional hearing was scheduled for Thursday, May 10.
