Who knew a coffee-to-go could turn out to be a weapon of self defense?

That's exactly what happened, according to Deputies in Jasper County, when a would-be bandit tried to pull a carjacking and got a cup of steaming java in the face.
Chief Deputy Roy Hughes said the suspect tapped the window of the car Wednesday morning with a gun and motioned the driver to get out.

The driver instead threw the hot coffee at him, slammed the car door on the man's legs and wrestled him to the ground.
