A worker found a wallet that was stolen from a serviceman 43 years ago in a Pittsburgh bus station.

Robert Gibson, who had been in the Air Force, got a call about the wallet Thursday from an Army captain in Pittsburgh.

"Before he could even say a word, I said, 'You found my wallet,"' said Gibson, 70, of Linwood, N.C. "How it got where (it was found) I don't know. I haven't taken a shower in a bus station since."

Gibson stopped in Pittsburgh while returning from serving almost a year and half in Germany as a staff sergeant repairing airplanes. He had decided to take a hot shower before boarding his bus to Clarksburg, W.Va., in 1962.

LeRoy Fillmore, an asbestos removal technician, found the wallet Wednesday in the former Greyhound station, which is being demolished.
"You will find some stuff, but nothing as interesting as this," Fillmore said.

Fillmore found it near some pipes he was inspecting and clearing of asbestos

He had an all-important baby picture and a Communist sighting report given to soldiers stationed in Germany during the Cold War in there too!

$300 was a lot of money 43 years ago, so i bet it had to hurt to lose it, poor man.

glad he wants it back for sentimental reasons, but i'd still be smarting from the loss of the money. unless he was a rich young chap, he must have needed it back then.
