This poor man had a tough life and a sad and tragic death. I hope the perp is found. Too many faceless, homeless people out there who no one cares about.

RIP Kurt.
 
From reading the comments in that story it appears he was well liked in town. It's a shame his life had to end this way.

Trial again delayed in homeless man’s 2016 homicide | Times Leader

He appeared before a Luzerne County Judge for a motions hearing Friday. Both prosecutors and Holtslander’s defense attorney said they needed additional time to prepare for the trial, which had been set for Oct. 22.

Holtslander’s attorney, a public defender, said Holtslander just this week underwent a psychological evaluation. Meanwhile, a Assistant District Attorney explained the lengthy process involved in electronically mapping the defendant’s vehicle.

The details of both of these developments would require more time to prepare for trial, attorneys said. They jointly asked to allow for the trial to be moved to March 11, 2019, which the Judge agreed to.

Man pleads guilty, gets 15 to 30 years in prison for 2016 homicide in Edwardsville | Times Leader
WILKES-BARRE — A city man has pleaded guilty in a 2016 homicide, admitting that he fatally stabbed a homeless man and dumped his body behind the Kmart in Edwardsville.

Daniel Elias Holtslander, 41, was immediately sentenced to spend up to 30 years in state prison.

He entered the guilty plea on a count of third-degree murder Thursday before Luzerne County Judge Fred A. Pierantoni III.
