Finding-Joseph-300x225.jpg

Joseph Balderas, a law clerk in the Alaska court system since 2009, has been reported missing. According to KTVA, Balderas was hiking alone over the weekend, and reported missing on Monday, when he failed to show up for work.
Search efforts will continue Wednesday near Mile 44 of the Nome-Council Highway, where troopers said Balderas' vehicle was found after he didn't show up to work Monday.

This one's for me. Juneau, my hometown..

Missing Nome man has ties to Juneau
As the search for former Juneau law clerk Joseph Balderas continued into its fourth day Thursday, his family and girlfriend were on their way to Nome, where he now lives, to help in the effort.

Balderas, 36, was reported missing Monday morning when he didn’t show up to work, according to the Alaska State Troopers dispatch. Balderas is a law clerk at the Nome court.

Troopers located the vehicle he was driving Monday at mile 44 of the Nome-Council Highway. That section of the 72-mile gravel road approaches the East Fork of Solomon River, according to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website. The habitat is elevated and is a good place to scan the surrounding slopes and river valley.

The official search for a Lubbock native who went missing in Alaska has been called off.

36-year-old Joseph Balderas, who lives in Nome, is a Roosevelt High School and Texas Tech graduate. Balderas went hiking and mountain running but when he did not show up for work last Monday, he was reported missing.

Search teams included the US Coast Guard, National Park Service, dog teams and more but the family is still searching in Nome.

Nearly two weeks and four hundred miles later, Balderas is still gone without a trace but Joseph's family refuses to give up.

Six years after disappearance, family still searching for Nome local Joseph Balderas

Pretty sure there is more to this story than meets the eye.

I bought some property on the Nome Council road a little before he went missing, have camped in that area and am familiar with it.

I know from past experience on this website that my posts be deleted so I won't add anything just leave this post and see how long it stays up.
