Friloux died last Wednesday after being stabbed during an armed robbery at the Raising Cane's on Williams Boulevard in Kenner.

So far, Kenner police have arrested four suspects in the case and they are still looking for one other person.

Joshua Every, 23, was the first man arrested in the case. Police say he was with Gregory Donald, Jr., 18, when he held Friloux and another employee at knife point as they were taking out the trash.

(...)

Police also arrested Mark Crocklen, Jr. who is accused of driving the getaway vehicle and Ariana Yanni Runner, 22, who they think actively recruited people for the robbery.

Kenner police say say Every worked with Friloux at the restaurant months ago, now they're investigating Friloux's death as a possible hate crime.

Joshua Every, who is accused of stabbing a 21-year-old Raising Cane’s manager to death during a robbery in June, said he killed the young woman because she recognized his face and said his name, a Kenner police detective testified Monday in a Gretna courtroom.

That detail and others emerged during a packed hearing, after which 24th Judicial District Court Commissioner Paul Schneider found probable cause to hold Every and his three alleged accomplices pending the acceptance of charges by Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick’s office.

Prosecutors in Taylor Friloux murder case want to limit defense access to grisly crime scene photos, fearing they could end up online
Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick’s office wants to prevent anyone on the defense team other than the attorneys — meaning staff, hired experts and the defendants themselves — from having copies of what it called “sensitive” materials related to the brutal June 27 stabbing of Taylor Friloux during a robbery at the chicken fingers restaurant on Williams Boulevard.
