GUILTY CA - Killer targeting the homeless (3 dead, 2 hurt), San Diego, July 2016 *Arrest*

Authorities are on the lookout Tuesday for an unidentified man believed to have murdered two transients in Bay Park and Ocean Beach (...)

The body of the first victim, 53-year-old Angelo De Nardo of San Diego, was found in flames in an open area off the 2700 block of Morena Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

Shortly before 5 a.m. Monday, a second homeless man was found bleeding from stab wounds to his upper body in the 3700 block of Greenwood Street, near Valley View Casino Center in the Midway district. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

Less than 90 minutes later, another transient was found dead in the 2500 block of Bacon Street, in a coastal neighborhood about three miles from the scene of the second attack.

A few thoughts- people have said he looks homeless based on the screenshots. I disagree. At least in the sense that yes, he has a backpack but he's clean shaven and wearing light colored pants that don't appear filthy. Also his clothes and sneakers look relatively expensive- not high end but mainstream style : the gap, banana republic, LL bean. He doesn't look like he's been living in them for very long, is what I'm trying to say.

I think he's a serial killer/spree killer and he's organized in planning this sick mission out.

He's wearing a cap to help hide his features and he's *wearing gloves* which means no fingerprints from the convenience store.

San Diego should replicate the San Francisco Homeless Project

In San Diego, as the July 12 All-Star Game approaches Mayor Kevin Faulconer has not formally announced any plan to relocate downtown homeless individuals. Instead, the SDPD oversees daily clear-outs of encampments and threatens to “bring down the hammer” on faith-based groups that do food-share programs, while the city places rocks under bridges to discourage sleeping there. It’s been a shadow sweep.

Been to 17th Street in East Village lately? The police sweep sizeable encampments there in the morning. The homeless pile their belongings into the proximal Neil Good Day Center, and then by evening return tents and tarps to the street. What’s the endgame? What’s the plan? There’s ominous potential for confrontation there on 17th Street that hopefully won’t become violent or deadly.

CB: Why don’t women and children go into shelters?

JC: There’s too few shelters for women with children. St. Vincent de Paul’s has a waiting list. Rescue Mission is not supposed to take more than 60 but they usually have more. The situation, from what I’ve been told, is awful; all these kids in one room; sick kids, babies with dirty diapers, crying. And then in the morning you have to take all of your stuff and leave, and wander around all day because there are no day centers for families, and then get back in line in the evening.

- but a green baseball hat (stands out)
- jacket and gloves (really - it is hot there)
- light colored pants (not homeless enough either)
- clean shave, trim cut
- also witnesses saw him running with a gas can afterwards...so he wasn't hiding the can (major mistake on his part - good for us)
- targeting homeless and males - definitely issues with both of those key points. maybe loves SD so much and doesn't want to see it like this or he was homeless once or some connection to it
