The name of one of the two people found dead over the holiday weekend in Young County has been released. DPS officials found the body of 33 year old Shelby Gober of Olney, in a ditch between Olney and Newcastle at Lowe Road and Highway 251.

DPS officials are still trying to find out how she died. The Texas Rangers have stepped in to help investigate this death.

The day before two residents called police to report they'd found a body in a clothing collection box behind the Loving Highway Church of Christ.

Police say they found the body of a 33-year-old man in that collections box. They have not determined yet how long the body may have been there. His name has not been released.

On Sunday, July 3, at around 11:20 a.m. a 33-year-old white female was found dead on Lowe Road off of Texas Highway 251, according to a release by Department of Public Safety Media Communications Sgt. Dan Buesing.

The Graham Leader spoke with Graham Police Chief Tony Widner Monday morning, July 4, and there are no updates at this time. The Graham police department still has not officially released the name of the deceased person found in Graham. Widner said that, as of now, he is not aware of a connection between the two cases.

No connection between the two bodies discovered in Young County over the weekend has been determined.

Manner and cause of death has not been determined or made public as of yet.

As far as I can determine, the identity of the 33-year-old male has not been officially released.

The locations where the two bodies were discovered are 18 miles apart.

On Saturday morning, July 2, at approximately 6:13 a.m. Graham PD responded to a suspicious circumstances report in the 1000 block of Loving Highway in Graham, Texas according to a press release by Police Chief Tony Widner. Upon arrival at the location, police met with two subjects who reported that they had discovered a body in one of the clothing collection boxes behind a church.

Officers checking the report discovered the body of a white male within one of the containers. Investigators were called to the scene and an investigation has begun into the circumstances surrounding the death of the individual.

The identity of the man whose body was found in the church donation box in Graham on 7-2 has been released:

The deceased has been identified as David Donald, 33, of Graham. Donald was found wearing only a pair of shorts.

A preliminary examination of Donald did not reveal any obvious indications of injury, violence, or foul play, Widner said in a written report. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but the body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Graham Police, Young County Sheriff’s Department personnel, Texas Rangers and the District Attorney’s Office are in constant communication and are actively involved in this case, according to Widner.

Graham police, the Young County Sherriff's Department, the Texas Rangers, and District Attorney's Office are all investigating this case, but investigators said people have gotten in the box in the past to get clothes and other items.
