Li may have been seen in the Richmond Hill area at about 7 p.m. the day she went missing.

She is know to frequent the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue and Fairview Mall areas of Toronto.

Police and Li’s family are growing increasingly concerned for her well-being and her disappearance is now considered suspicious.

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have released a photo of a possible witness they wish to speak to.

Police ask this woman, or anyone who knows her, to come forward.

    Hmmmm I'm not so sure.

This lady went missing from my street corner. We have been out so much since the nice weather has decided to come, however I don't remember what we were doing that day.
I hope she's found. I'm certain that there's evidence she has met with foul play since the Homicide unit is involved. So sad. I hope she's found.

It appears the witness might have been in an elevator.
Have they said what area of Richmond Hill she was seen at?

Ying Chun (Annie) Li was last seen by her family at around 6 p.m. on June 12 in the vicinity of Denison Street and Markham Road.

According to Li’s brother Jet Hu, his sister received a text message from someone that evening and then told her parents she was going out for dinner with a friend. She then texted her father at 11 p.m. to tell him that she would return home the next morning but hasn’t been heard from since.
Investigators say that the last known sighting of Li was in the Richmond Hill area at around 7 p.m. on June 12. Hu said that police have informed him that the location where Li was spotted was a Chinese restaurant.

“She just said she was going out with a friend. We don’t know what friend,” Hu told CTV News Toronto on Wednesday.
While homicide detectives are investigating, Nicolle said that police are still “optimistic” that Li is alive.

York Regional Police say they have issued an arrest warrant for a man suspected of manslaughter in the disappearance and likely death of a 36-year-old Markham woman who was last seen in June.

Ying Chun (Annie) Li was last seen by her family at around 6 p.m. on June 12 in the vicinity of Denison Street and Markham Road.

Her brother, Jet Hu, told investigators that his sister got a text message from someone that night and then told her parents that she was heading out to eat dinner with a friend.

A suspect identified as Jiarui (Jerry) Tang is wanted for manslaughter. Police say he is known to frequent the Chinatown neighbourhood and is believed to be somewhere in the GTA.

Const. Laura Nicolle says Tang is believed to be the last person seen with Li, outside of the Chinese restaurant in Richmond Hill. Nicolle says the two knew each other only for a brief period of time before her disappearance.
Tang is asked to turn himself in to police as soon as possible.

If spotted, the public is asked not to approach and call 911 immediately.

A 21-year-old man found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the death of a Markham woman last year has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Based on an agreed statement of facts presented at the sentencing, Tang did not have a girlfriend and often hired sex workers as escorts or sexual companions.

The judge heard that Li often met men on internet dating websites and, on occasion, worked as a sex trade worker to make extra money.
The documents indicate Li was “actively trying to meet a man that she could marry and with whom she could begin a family in Canada.”
Tang, according to the documents, hired Li on two or three occasions where he paid her $800 for sexual services at a hotel.
On the night that she was killed, Li met with Tang for dinner and a movie before going to his apartment.
Once there, Li told Tang she was pregnant, demanded he give her money and threatened to tell his mother if he didn’t.
According to the statement of facts, Tang admitted to retaliating and a struggle ensued. At some point, Tang held Li down with his elbow pressed against her neck with such force that it eventually caused her death.
