Details of Disappearance
Bonds was last seen in the DeLong Lake parking lot in the vicinity of the 6300 block of Jewel Lake Road in Anchorage, Alaska, at 8:00 p.m. on March 27, 2004. Several days later, his black and gray 1995 Ford F-250 XLT extended cab pickup truck was found in the parking lot where he was last seen. Bonds's cellular phone was on the front seat, the doors were unlocked, and his dog, a Laborador retriever mix named Scully, was in the bed of the truck.

Bonds has never been heard from again. He is a graduate of Deer Park High School in Deer Park, California and had lived in Anchorage for five years prior to his disappearance. His family lives in Houston, Texas. Police checks with local airlines showed that he did not fly out of Anchorage under his own name.

Bonds's relatives say Bonds was very attached to Scully and would not have left the animal behind, and also would not have abandoned his infant son. He called his family regularly, but they have not heard from him since March 2004. Foul play is suspected in Bonds's disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

12-year-old cold case gets new look from search and rescue group

A 12-year-old cold case might be heating up, thanks to the help of a nonprofit search and rescue group. Texas Equusearch has agreed to look into the Damon Bonds case.

Bonds was last seen on March 27, 2004. Police found his truck abandoned at Delong Lake Park in Anchorage a few days later, his keys, cell phone and dog still inside.

Initial search efforts were unsuccessful, although Anchorage police said they do believe foul play was involved in Bonds’ disappearance. His sister, Courtney Broussard, agrees. She said her brother never would have walked away by choice.

“I immediately thought foul play,” Broussard said. “He was in a heated custody dispute with his ex for his infant son and they were the last ones to see him.”

Bumping up for Damon. I hope there will be a break in his case.

Damon Bonds was last seen by friends on Saturday, March 27, 2004. His truck was found in the parking lot at Delong Lake on March 31. His dog was in the bed of the truck under a canopy, the doors were unlocked and his cell phone was on the front seat, but there was no sign of Damon. The APD Auxiliary Search Team, assisted by a dog trained to find cadavers, hunted for Bonds in the area around his truck but found no signs of him. Damon's friends and family insist that he never would have left his dog and are convinced he met with foul play.
