Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Other than the initial Birmingham, MI, police's fb page post of her missing, posted 6 months after she was last seen, and this linked in profile, I can find NO INFORMATION about this woman, her family, a search for her ... nada!

    https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicole-v-summers-09403a77

There are no media stories of any kind that I can locate. This was a professional woman, a pharmaceutical rep, who was last seen at a hospital doing her job (I suppose). It is as if she has fallen off the planet and no one cares.

This I find quite upsetting. I may go on to contact LE and her local media and find out why no one seems to care.

    Any advice? Thanks in advance.

There is very little (virtually no) follow up on Nicole. She has been added to NamUs, however (so it's highly likely she's still missing). Dental records and fingerprints are on file already, so that's a positive

ETA: I too get frustrated when there is an apparent lack of interest in a missing person case. Sometimes I just don't 'get it.' However, I'd be remiss if I didn't add that very often (from my experience), a lack of media and/or public appeals does not mean the case has been forgotten. LE is often working hard, exploring leads, etc...they're just doing it behind the scenes.

Some posts have been removed. A couple of reminders …

Websleuths is victim friendly and as such, victim bashing is not allowed.

If you state something as fact, you must provide links to MSM or LE to support such statements. Otherwise the information is considered rumor unless you choose to become a Verified Insider:

Thanks patchcyber. I found it, but can’t link to the actual FB update for some reason. For anyone wanting to find it:

It is a bit confusing as it seems there was a typo when resolved. But the initial post from May 2016 has been updated for resolved 9th Feb (with typo 2016) and corrected later to 9th Feb 2017
