One of the adopted girls told WINK News that the sexual abuse persisted for nearly seven years.

The investigation began Sunday night at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Del Prado Boulevard, where police encountered three teenage children from the family, all of whom were extremely intoxicated and said their father had given them alcohol, according to the police report.

How in the WORLD could it even be possible for this couple to get a hold of TEN children (adopted/fostered) along with their THREE biological children? That is 15 people in ONE home. I thought there were guidelines about specific space per child when it came to even CUSTODY disputes?

The article was not clear to me, whether the Alabama family moved to Florida or were on a trip. If he skipped town with them, I hope he/she are charged with ten counts of kidnapping. That will keep the perps locked up the rest of their natural lives.

Ok, they were allowed to move with the kids who were in the process of being adopted. But now the minors are being returned to Alabama to new placements selected by the agency who put them with the Spurgeons. That's just great. (Sarcasm intended)

Mr Spurgeon is facing more than 100 counts each of first-degree sexual abuse, child abuse and enticing a child for immoral purposes. Others charges against him include sodomy; sexual torture; rape; domestic violence by strangulation; incest and human trafficking.
The charges against Mrs Spurgeon include 100 counts each of child abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and enticing a child for immoral purposes, as well as a single count of domestic violence by strangulation and 11 counts of human trafficking.

700+ child abuse charges handed down to Cape couple

CAPE CORAL, FL -
A Cape Coral couple faces more than 700 counts of child abuse in what police are saying is the most shocking case they've ever seen.

Daniel and Jenise Spurgeon are wanted in Alabama and were already charged in Florida being accused of abusing at least 11 fostered and adopted children.

We just spoke with the Children's Network of Southwest Florida who told us the kids went almost six months without monthly check-ups from a state agency because Alabama never notified them that the family moved to their state.
