Australia - Bindi Cheers, 44, Clarendon, NSW, 24 July 2016

    http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/horse-trai...24-gqcv4y.html

A well-known horse trainer has disappeared after attending a weekend race meeting at the Hawkesbury Race Club in Sydney's north-west, police say.
Bindi Cheers, 44, was last seen at the track on Racecourse Road in Clarendon about 2pm on Sunday, but never returned to her home in Taree, on the Mid North Coast of NSW, police said.

The horses were found at a service station near Newcastle, without Bindi. Apparently not like her to leave her horses.

I've been following this. Doesn't sound good.
Things I've read. So consider rumour.
She had an argument with a steward before disappearing.
A few years ago after a disagreement she took off bareback on one of her horses.

WELL-known horse trainer Bindi Cheers had already had a heated discussion with stewards at Hawkesbury races about the failure of one of her runners when another thoroughbred was scratched at the barriers after it injured itself before a race on Sunday.

Police are now investigating whether the 44-year-old, who was in a distressed state as she left the race track at 2pm with her four horses, just walked away from her truck after parking it at a Beresfield service station on her way home to Taree.

Believed to have returned after a similar disappearance on the mid-north coast in 2015

Friends have taken to twitter claiming she loved her horses more than anything and would never just abandon them like that.

Not being a horse trainer, I understood very little of this. What is a steward? And what is a runner? And whose thoroughbred was injured? One that she trains?

A steward is an official on the race track and a runner is a competing horse.

Yes, it was one of her horses (that she trains) who was injured in the gates and scratched from the race.
(Sorry, I'm unsure if I'm supposed to provide a link to where I read that )

Maybe it's in her nature to walk away to cool off. However her just leaving the horses there and taking off is sounding like she just gave up.
    I hope she is found.

HOPE remains that searchers can find Bindi Cheers safe after a witness reported seeing a woman matching the horse trainer’s description walking into bushland on Tuesday afternoon not far from where she left her horse float.

I read somewhere that it was something along the lines of 'the keys to the ute are in the usual spot'
