Kansas woman missing after her sky diving parachute was found near Cushing

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

This article says that her chute was found in a tree, and that there is "no explanation as to what would have separated the woman from her parachute".

This is an odd one. If the chute was in a tree, why wasn't she with it? Did she separate from the chute before or after it landed in the tree? If after, where is she? If alive, wouldn't she have contacted someone? If deceased, wouldn't she be fairly close to the tree?

Authorities say the woman's parachute deployed at around 4,000 feet and since then, she's been nowhere to be found. Her parachute was discovered near Harmony Road, east of Cushing.

She was found five miles from her chute, they think she fell completely out of her harness:

    How scary. That shouldn't happen.

I hope this okay to post - it's a little obit from her campus. She seems like a really lovely girl and quite a tragic loss.
