ORANGE CITY, Fla. -- Investigators are on the scene at a home in Orange City where a woman's body was found in a shed.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office obtained a warrant Wednesday evening to search the property, WESH 2 News reported.

The property, which is on Cypress Avenue, belongs to Larry and Deborah Roberson. A family member called the police when he was unable to reach his parents for several days. Deputies searched the home Tuesday night and didn't find anything.

The Robersons' son was so concerned he drove down from Georgia. He went out to his parents' house with Volusia County deputies Wednesday morning and that's when the body was discovered in the shed.

Authorities say the adult female's body was found Wednesday in a shed. They're looking for 47-year-old Larry Roberson who may be driving a 2002 Chevy Silverado.

A spokesman for the sheriff's department says Roberson's wife, Debra, hasn't be accounted for, and he's not saying if the body found is hers.

Court records show Larry Roberson was arrested for aggravated battery in 2002 after he tried to smother his wife with a bath towel soaked in bleach. The spokesman says deputies have been called to the home five times

The abusers don't stop abusing unless they are locked up! More:

Deputies have responded to the couple's home five times in the past two years, but Davidson would not elaborate because he said it was part of the investigation.

The 2002 incidents detailed in the injunction occurred at a prior address. Larry Roberson, 47, was charged with aggravated battery domestic violence and sentenced to three years' probation.

Debra Roberson was granted the restraining order in April 2002, but asked that it be voluntarily dismissed less than two months later. Her daughter's restraining order is still in effect.

geez, would have been kind of helpful if they'd printed a photo of the 2 people, so maybe the public could regocnize them, don't you think?? especially since killers on the run often change their name...?

The police went and checked but didn't think to check all buildings on the property....the son heads for home and finds the female's body right off the bat!!! Was it his mother? I'm gathering that it was. No sign of the father?
Scary. I wonder if he committed the murder and took off or if someone else did and took him with them or he left with them? Boy.

My heart goes out to the son who found his mom's body. That would be so awful. I hope they have other children so they can support each other.

A family member on Saturday identified Debra May Roberson as the woman found dead in a shed last week at 1210 Cypress Ave. just west of the city.
Meanwhile, a woman who identified herself in e-mails to The Daytona Beach News-Journal as Jeri Lentz, a sister of Larry Roberson, said her brother may have committed suicide. Larry Roberson, Debra Roberson's husband, is being sought by investigators but was still missing Saturday night.

"We are waiting and wondering where he could be, if indeed, he is still alive," Lentz wrote Saturday. "My guess, knowing my brother, when he comes down from whatever he must be on, that he will take his own life."

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office would not confirm Debra Roberson's identity. The information was provided by Amy Derstine, the daughter of Debra and Larry Roberson, to Allen Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. An obituary submitted to The News-Journal Saturday noted that Debra Roberson died Oct. 21 -- five days before her murdered body was discovered on Wednesday.

A two week search for 47-year-old Larry Roberson has ended with a confession he killed his wife. Volusia County Sheriff's Deputies have been wanting to talk with Roberson ever since his wife's body was found October 26th.

Her badly decomposed body was found in a shed on property in Orange City where they were living. Police say Roberson was found Sunday morning west of Ocala in Levy County. They say he has confessed to killing 52-year-old Debra Roberson. Roberson is being held without bail in the Levy County Jail, charged with violating the terms of his probation from a 2002 conviction for aggravated battery. Roberson is expected to be returned to Volusia County this week, and he's expected to be charged with murder.

I'm glad that they found the husband and that he has admitted what he did.

His sister must believe that he is into drugs and that he was messed up when he killed his wife. Don't know if that is true or not. Not that it will make a difference now. He didn't take his own life though. They usually don't.

My heart goes out to the daughter who has to try and cope with this whole thing...her father murdered her mother. Pretty hard to understand why these people who murder their spouse or ex spouse don't take a minute and consider their children and what they will have to live with and without.
