Missing 82-year-old woman's car found

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is continuing to search after a car belonging to a woman who has been missing since early July was found Sunday.
The vehicle was found on a rough dirt road nearly five miles off Divide Road in the Uncompahgre National Forest near the Mesa and Delta County lines.

On Sunday around 8 a.m., two men out scouting reported the abandoned 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis.

ATVs had a difficult time navigating the road Finnegan's car was found on.

She has dementia and might be confused.

That poor, poor woman.

"Searchers have begun Day 3 of looking for 82-year-old Mary Finnegan in the Uncompahgre National Forest.... focused on a 5 to 6 mile radius near the area where her car was found on Sunday. ATV teams have gone out about a 20 mile radius.... The vegetation in the area is very dense and difficult to see through and in some cases see over. Some overgrowth is 3 feet to 12 feet tall, and that doesn't include trees in the area.... ground team, ATV, tracking, and dog teams also working on the search effort.... Nothing has been found to indicate foul play." (less than 10%)

The body of Mary Finnegan, the 82-year-old Delta County woman who has been missing since July 15, was found Tuesday evening.

The Mesa County Sheriffs Office said a family member found her body off Divide Road about three miles from where her car was found on July 24.

I'm glad she was found but sad that a family member made the discovery. RIP Mary.
