Is it normal for "homicide detectives" to be assigned to a missing person?

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Press Release:
Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives made a plea to the public today, asking anyone with information about the disappearance of missing person Tamara Rummel to step forward. Tamara’s daughter last saw her mother when she dropped her off at the family home in an unincorporated area of Covina. It is believed Tamara left her home approximately 90 minutes later as a passenger in an unfamiliar sports utility vehicle with an unknown person(s). The last confirmed sighting of Tamara was on Friday afternoon, May 20, 2016 at a Covina-based bank automated teller machine.

The logo on that hat.... What is it?

From the FB link:

"Images of a man with Tamara were captured in still photos recorded by the bank ATM as Tamara withdrew money, however, detectives have not confirmed if this was the same person who left the house with Tamara earlier. Also suspicious, Tamara’s cell phone activity ended hours after the ATM transaction, and she has not been seen or heard from since.

The man seen in the bank’s ATM photos wore a white T-shirt and baseball cap with an unknown logo on the front."

Obviously her being picked up was prearranged. So her phone and computer records need to be reviewed.

My first thought is a Baltimore Ravens logo of some kind. But I haven't seen one like it, so I doubt it.

That was my first thought Lisa. My second thought was if she went missing on May 20th - why are we just now hearing about this over two months later?

Having homicide detectives involved means they know much more than we do and it's obviously not good.

This idea is not my own. I saw a comment where someone thought this might be the logo.

Great find, no matter how. So, the online store does still sell that hat (if the one).

This hat has the swoosh B and the block lettering underneath. It could have been purchased at a local gym or health food store, or body building vitamin supply store (like GNC for example). Since it's a brand, my guess is a gym or bodybuilding.com store.

Would a person who wasn't into fitness buy that hat? If they got it free (for signing up or buying bulk amounts) they might wear it too. LE should take the sketch to all these places and ask around.

Someone pulled over and dumped someone over the side of the freeway and drove off. :(

I was looking at the bodybuilding site, and it seems to be an online store only (I think). I started reading some buyers' reviews under the swoosh hat, and a couple of reviewers from 2015 mentioned they got the hat as a free gift with their purchase, as GigTu suggested could have been the case.

In the bank ATM surveillance photos, the man with the hat looks to be holding something in his hand, but I can't make it out.

The way he is standing with his back to the wall right next to Tamara as she uses the ATM machine does look suspicious. Normal etiquette, a person would keep a certain distance behind for a user's privacy.

Tamara is still missing. Her family is still posting on her wall how much they miss her :'(
Bumping to push her case up.
