New Zealand - Kim Richmond, 42, Te Awamutu, Waikato, 31 July 2016

Fears have been growing for Kim Louise Richmond, 42, who was last seen in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 31.

She was last seen when she left her Waikato home in a silver 2014 Ford Ranger utility, registration number HKD553.

Richmond is of thin build, 162cm tall with an olive complexion and dark hair.

She has a hearing disability, and was last seen wearing a Highlanders rugby jersey, blue jeans, a brown leather jacket and brown leather boots.

Western Waikato CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson said the disappearance appears to be out of character and police are concerned for Richmond's wellbeing.

It is unknown yet if foul play is involved, Patterson said, and he would like to hear from Richmond or anyone who knows her whereabouts.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Paul Van Der Zee of the Te Awamutu CIB on 07 8720100.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Kim's car would be similar to this one (not sure if hers is a double, or single, cab though):

I'm not sure of the terrain where she specifically lives, but the area is known for adventure tourism:

    http://www.climb.co.nz/places/wharep...p-climbing.htm

"Wharepapa is one of the best rock climbing areas in New Zealand and it's certainly popular among adventure tourists. If you’re a visitor to New Zealand and looking for an adventure and some great rock climbing, then Wharepapa is one place you should have on your itinerary. Check out the crags listed on the menu to the left of this page."

My first thought was she might have had an accident on one of the roads or broken down in some obscure spot, but if that was the case the helicopter search should've detected her. Hoping she is found urgently as it is the height of Winter here currently. Temperature is currently 9 Degrees Celsius (as I type this at 7:56pm local time).

    Still no news:

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=11691572

... "On Tuesday and Wednesday the Police National Dive Squad searched Lake Arapuni and Lake Waipapa.

Three divers and two crew travelled from Wellington with their specialist equipment and conducted grid search dives at Bulmers and Arapuni landings, as well as shore search dives of both lakes.

    Nothing was found."

    I don't think so, Dot.

Sadly, New Zealand cases don't seem to get the (much-needed) coverage that others do.

"Unfortunately it has been a long time since Kim went missing and we believe it is unlikely that she will still be found alive," Detective Paul Galletta said.

"The investigation into her disappearance, which is completely out of character, is very much still an active one and we're focused on finding her and establishing the circumstances around what has happened."

Two bank cards and a farm card belonging to Ms Richmond were found months later on the roadside between Rangipo and State Highway 47.

Police say finding her vehicle is "of utmost importance". They also want to know if anyone saw someone throwing cards from a vehicle on State Highway 46 in late September or early October.
