NC - Cecilia Parra Anaya, 20, fatally shot, Pitt County, 29 May 2016

According to Pitt County deputies, Cecilia Anaya, 20, died Monday from a gunshot wound to the head.

Anaya was found in a ditch around Frog Level Road and Dickinson Avenue and left for dead on May 29th. She was found breathing, but unresponsive.

Deputies believe she may have been in a car prior to being killed.

Cecilia Margarita Parra Anaya, 21, died Aug. 8, about 2 1/2 months after she was found shot in the head and left for dead in a ditch off Dickinson Avenue across from the Greenville Auto Auction...

Anaya was found about 30 yards from Dickinson Avenue and was not visible from the road... “We felt like she was shot the night before the night she was found,” Suggs said.

Anaya had been attending a party at a residence just down the road the night before. According to people at the party, she left on foot about midnight...

The detectives can’t say for sure whether she was shot somewhere else or at the spot where she was found, he said.

Cecilia's sister, Yesenia Rosas-Parra said while she cherishes the memory of her sister, she is focused on seeing her sister's killer arrested.

"I really appreciated her and that I got that gift to be her sister," she said. "They're still out there, and they're getting away with it."
