It's not going to get better is it Greg? :tears:

Glad I didn't go to Thailand this year!! We were seriously considering going for a food tour type thing this summer but I've been off work 7 months this year and we couldn't swing it.

I know it is difficult to know which countries are safe to travel to now with so many tragedies all over.

I'm keeping an eye out for info about who could be responsible for this bombing.

"Explosions are tearing through southern Thailand with reports of a blast in the tourist hub of Phuket, just hours after a woman was killed in Hua Hin.

In Patong in Phuket - the most popular destination for foreign tourists visiting Thailand - a bomb has reportedly exploded at Loma Park.

Another unconfirmed report said a police box exploded on Patong Beach's main road, at the intersection of Soi Bangla."

Latest - A series of bomb and fire attacks have left 4 dead and dozens injured. There is no confirmation who is behind these awful attacks at this time. Tragic. May the dead Rest In Peace and the injured recover as much as possible.

Well, guess that xmas vacay is out! Glad I didn't pay in full.

When will it end?!

Having some problems figuring out exactly how many bombs exloded, at which locations and when - a lot of stuff being blown up over there it seems?

A series of bombings have hit Thailand, just hours after two bombs at a resort killed one person and wounded 21 others. Blasts have been reported in Phuket, Surat Thani, and Hua Hin. The most recent blasts have reportedly killed at least one and wounded at least eight more.

Please excuse me for sounding negative, but some days I really hate this world we live in. Bombs exploding, people mutilated and beheaded, little kids kidnapped for use as sex slaves then murdered, shootings, knifings, and on and on and on it goes. The world has gone freakin mad.

My honey flies out tomorrow on business ... Not a happy camper ...

Hi Blondie

It simply going bonkers - this one I can not figure it out - they keep going off the first was 9 hours ago and then the beach 17 minutes ago. I dont know enought about over there to like get a baseline of what this is - they are just copying the rest of the planet I imagine pathetic.................

gezzzz where do all these people get stuff for bombs, it seems like it has become the same as picking up milk somewhere - if I recall correctly years ago bombs were for armies - not citizens at any location time or place.

At the end of the day we are animals. Any living creature desenstizes to events that happen over and over - now days its like Oh a bomb--whats new?

Feels as if bombs now days are no different than bullets

Greg started an earlier thread here I just noticed - sorry about that

*The attacks appear to be at least in part targeting areas where tourism is important.

*Police have detained a number of suspects and blamed “local sabotage”. They have specifically denied the involvement of terrorist insurgents from the south of the country, which analysts say have been involved in long-running battles with the Thai state. There have been no claims of responsibility.

*The Thai prime minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, has called for calm and ordered security to be increased across urban areas and areas popular with tourists.
Security services are increasing presence at transport hubs. Phuket international airport, and some railways stations and roads have been closed in affected provinces.

*Foreign embassies are warning visitors to Thailand to be vigilant

Best to stay home and take up croquet, IMO.

Sadly, I don't think the condition of the world will get any better. A new country is under attack every week, it seems.
