CqQOR9VUAAAy7il.jpg

The family Linda Gail Wilhite – 67 was concerned because no one had heard from her in a few days and it was not typical behavior from her.
She was last seen on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at her residence.
No one was inside, but officers located what appeared to be blood in one of the bedrooms

A significant amount of blood doesn't sound good. :(

They are using helicopters and following cell activity in the search: http://www.everythinglubbock.com/ne...-with-aerial-search-for-missing-lubbock-woman

On Thursday Lieutenant John Hayes said LPD was very grateful to DPS for the use of the helicopter. He said it not only prevents LPD from getting vehicles stuck in areas of tough terrain, it’s also much faster than searching on foot.

As for the specific locations, Hayes said LPD was following leads from cell phone activity.

“There was some cell phone activity of the people who were involved,” Hayes said. But a cell phone tower only narrows a location down to within 2,000 meters or 5,000 meters depending on the tower, he said.

Sounds like they have some suspects.

LPD and the Lubbock Fire Department entered Wilhite's home on 38th Street near Ironton to perform a welfare check, officials said.

"[The officer] entered a bedroom and observed a light switch near a closet with a bloody finger print on it. The closet door was closed. He also observed blood on the closet door. He observed a faint bloody trail leading to the interior of the closet," the warrant said.

According to the warrant, investigators found what appeared to be "human blood on the carpet and on blankets and a pillow" inside the closet. Towels were also found inside the closet.

"The towels appeared to have dried blood on them. The amount of blood in the closet led [the officer] to believe someone had been severely injured. [The officer] located what appeared to be blood in other parts of the residence," the warrant stated.

Police recovered Wilhite's SUV on August 19, a vehicle that police said her son, Kody Climer, also drove sometimes. Climer lived with his mother, LPD said.

Climer was arrested on an unrelated charge on August 19.

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Climer is the son of Linda Gail Wilhite, 67, who was discovered missing on August 19. That’s the same day Climer was arrested but the criminal charge against him is completely unrelated.

An arrest warrant for Climer was issued on August 19 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A few days before the warrant, a police report said Climer confronted his ex-girlfriend at a convenience store in the 5800 block of 34th Street.

The report said he displayed a knife in the parking lot and was trying to get into an SUV with his ex-girlfriend. The police report said Climer struck the windows of the SUV but was unable to get inside. The report said he slashed two tires and then left.
