Girl, 9, found dead inside Queens home

A 9-year-old girl was found dead at a home in Queens Friday evening.

A neighbor tried to use the shared bathroom of the multi-family house at 112th Street in the Richmond Hill area of Queens around 6 p.m., but it was locked and eerily quiet. The neighbor called the landlord who broke into the bathroom, finding the child unresponsive.

EMS pronounced the girl dead at the scene.

Stepmother questioned in death of 9-year-old girl, barricaded herself in Queens home before being detained

The stepmother of the 9-year-old Ashdeep Kaur who was found dead in their Richmond Hill home was taken in for questioning Saturday morning, police said.

The woman, whose family members say "didn't treat the victim right," barricaded herself inside a South Ozone Park residence prior to being apprehended by officers just after 9 p.m. Friday, according to the NYPD.

I heard on local news that the little girl had complained to relatives that step mom was abusive. She had only been in the US a short time and was very unhappy due to the step mom.

A woman who shares part of Pardas' house on 112th St. near 101st Ave. in Richmond Hill — including the bathroom — told Ashdeep’s dad that Pardas and his daughter had gone into the bathroom together Friday, according to relatives of the girl.

The stepmother emerged alone and, before leaving the house, told the housemate the girl was still inside, taking a shower. When the housemate went to take a shower about 6 p.m. Friday she discovered the girl’s lifeless body.

The cherub-faced girl moved to Queens from India just three months ago. Relatives said that Ashdeep was afraid of her stepmother and claimed she was abused by her.

Shamdai Arjun, 55, was arrested after being questioned Saturday morning, sources tell PIX11. The medical examiner said the cause of Ashdeep Kaur’s death was strangulation after she was found lifeless in their Queens home Friday evening.

I feel so sorry for the little girl. She knew it was wrong. She told her family. So sad.
 
Said "relatives", I will never forgive you. You are an adult, you are responsible for protecting the young innocents. If you have even a hint of a suspicion, CALL! Right away! Call CPS, call the police, call the DA office. If you are wrong, good-a child is safe. If you are right, then you are rescuing a child and possibly saving a life.

We must find a way for speedy and permanent justice for these evil people who harm and kill our precious children. Glad she was arrested right away, she must never be freed again.
 
The psychotic Queens woman charged with murdering her 9-year-old stepdaughter subjected the little girl to repeated death threats, prosecutors alleged Sunday in court.

Assistant Queens District Attorney Michael Curtis said Shamdai Arjun, 55, who allegedly strangled her stepdaughter Ashdeep Kaur in their South Richmond Hill apartment on Friday, finally “made good” on her promises to kill the little girl.

“This defendant repeatedly and on numerous occasions threatened to kill the victim,” said Curtis, adding the most recent threat was made just three days before the girl died.

“On Friday, she made good on this threat,” he said.

Arjun even admitted her intention to her husband — Ashdeep’s father — Sukhjinder Singh, according to the criminal complaint.

All knew their victims with the exception of Elizabeth Bathory, who killed +650 people or Karla Holmolka.

Some are injustice collectors like Baniszewski, Drew, Baker, Ortega, Bobokulova, and Dann. Some are vicarious injustice collectors like Baniszewski, Drew, and Bobokulova.

Psychotic is certainly the way to describe this vile woman.

This baby girl was let down by far too many people. Her own daddy knew that his wife wanted to kill his daughter, yet he did nothing about it. The family members that she reported the threats to, they also did nothing. And then her step mother, who repeatedly made death threats to a 9 year old girl... I just have no words. And she thinks she'll get off because 'no one saw her do it' - I'm fairly sure there's proof of some kind, even if you take away the death threats she was making right up until the murder.

Strangulation isn't a quick and easy method to kill, either. This woman would have had plenty of time to look her in the eyes while she strangled the life out of her. What an absolute monster.
