Oh, no! I was hoping they just decided to go site-seeing away from the group or took a wrong turn and were lost in a place without cell signal.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Update 5:20 p.m.: Tuolumne County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Andrea Benson states, “The third woman who was extricated from the vehicle is being stabilized while enroute to the Sonora Regional Medical Center where they will be met by the air ambulance. All three women sustained major traumatic injuries.” She adds that it was actually search and rescue crew members combing the area on foot that found the crashed SUV down the embankment along Highway 120 as the wreckage could not be seen from the roadway

Oh how sad. Parts of highway 120 around Groveland/Stanislaus Natl. Forest are so treacherous, I've been so scared to drive it sometimes that we just drive south towards Merced to leave Yosemite instead (I assume that's why they were there, you don't typically go out there for any other reason). It's very twisty and you can drive off the side very easily of some of the foothills... and no cell service at all.

All the thoughts with their loved ones, I am so glad they found them and were able to try to help all three of them, but really, terrible outcome.
