Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

I wonder what happened here. I hope they haven't been car-jacked by some crazed prick on ice, but this loon driving their car sounds out of his mind- running off into the forest during the night.

Why would they have left all that stuff at home when traveling like they did? It makes no sense.

Just want to point out, the woman in the photo in the first post is Mark's daughter, not his wife Jacoba.

I was just thinking the woman looked young enough to be his daughter!

Wow that's odd. How did she get to the hospital? In what condition is she? Can she talk? And where is Mark?

I think they must have been kidnapped by this young man who fled into the woods, and she was able to escape? I hope Mark did too!

That article says it is believed Mark Tromp is in the Wangaratta area. Is he likely to be the man seen running from the car?

The Herald Sun has been told Mrs Tromp, 53, presented herself to the Yass District Hospital, 50km north of Canberra, about midday. Her condition is not yet known.

Detectives believe the man seen fleeing from the coupleís car at Merriwa Park in Wangaratta matches Mr Trompís description.

Local police have confirmed he was in the town the day before.

I didn't even think of that possibility but apparently you are right!

So what happened? Did they have a fight?
