    Holy Crap

For 40 exhausting minutes, Wayne Goldsberry battled a buck with his bare hands in his daughter's bedroom.

Goldsberry finally subdued the five-point whitetail deer that crashed through a bedroom window at his daughter's home Friday. When it was over, blood splattered the walls and the deer lay dead on the bedroom floor, its neck broken.

I don't know much about deer but they are wild creatures and when panicked might attack & fight hard enough to force the issue to the point that simply opening the door may not have seemed to be an option.

Freezer will be full this winter.
Just when I think that I have seen the most depraved things a human can do to another human, somebody posts a new story...........

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?

I've seen video's of what a paniced deer will do to the inside of your home (they tend to crash thru glass windows)

Thank god this wasn't a West Virginia story. Rednecks and wild animals in this state don't mix well.

Seriously, most of us are used to Bambi, but deer can be very agressive and dangerous, especially a buck. Additionally, this is the time of year that the testosterone really gets going and a bad time to confront one!!

However, I would just shut the door to the master bedroom once he went in there and waited for the police to arrive.

Opening a door only would do any good if the deer knew what a door was and if its antlers could fit through the doorway. A panicked deer can and will kick you to death, not unlike a horse (worse--their hooves are damned sharp). I knew a lesbian couple that had a moose stick its head through their window in Alaska. That was funny, but the moose couldn't figure out how to withdraw its head. It began to panic and proceeded to nearly pull house down trying to extricate itself. One of the women had to grab a shotgun and kill the moose, so it wouldn't demolish their cabin. So they had a dead moose with its head in their kitchen. They had to walk 10 miles to their nearest neighbor to get a chainsaw big enough to take it apart so they could close the window.

He was antlered and dangerous -- and he almost took out Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

As Pawlenty arrived for work at the Capitol Thursday, he and his entourage heard shattering glass and then saw a big buck charge past about five feet from them. The deer broke two windows at the Capitol before bounding off.

The state's deer hunting season officially opens Saturday, and Pawlenty is headed to the northwestern Minnesota city of Perham for his annual kickoff event.

Pawlenty said the parking lot incident was a good omen.

"We could have had the governor's deer opener right here at the Capitol," Pawlenty said. "If that's any indication, the deer hunting is going to go well this year."

Why couldn't the father and daughter run out of the room and close the door, then call animal control??
