Identified! Canada - Body found in Ottawa River behind mint, Ont. 4 Sept 2016 - Jessica Ntahoturi, 20

The body was located near Lady Grey Drive, a small street that runs along the bank of the Ottawa River ending at its most southern end in a parking lot used by employees of the mint. The Ottawa Rowing Club is located further north along the street.

Inspector John Medeiros tells CTV Ottawa it's not yet known how the person ended up in the water, but at this point in time foul play is not suspected. Investigators will be checking missing persons reports as they attempt to identify the body. Medeiros says the woman's age is currently unknown.

An autopsy will be performed Monday.

An autopsy is expected on Tuesday. Police are not looking for witnesses, but D’Aoust said anyone with information is welcome to come forward. Police have not yet released the name or age of the woman.

Officers from the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais are also investigating after a body was found in a wooded area in La Pêche on Sunday afternoon.


The body was found at the back of an isolated cottage on Pontbriand Road, in the Lac-des-Loups area north of Gatineau Park, around 4:20 p.m.

The victim had been dead for some time, according to reports, and the death is being treated as suspicious. Police continue to investigate.

Police in Ottawa are seeking public assistance in locating Jessica Ntahoturi, 20, missing since Tuesday.

Ntahoturi was last seen in the Sweetland Avenue area of Ottawa at about 2 p.m.
She is described as black, last seen wearing an army camouflage jacket, with black pants and white shoes.
