    Alert issued for missing 5-year-old Birmingham girl

    Birmingham police and ALEA announced the alert about midnight for Camila Sanabria, missing from her mother's home in western Birmingham.*

    Camila was last seen by her mother after she was dressed for school Tuesday morning, said Birmingham police Sgt. Bryan Shelton.

    Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said this afternoon Camila has been located in North Carolina with her father. After further investigation, he said, the mother moved here from North Carolina in attempts to get away from child's father.

    The mother is originally from Honduras. Technically, there are no official documents as to who has legal custody of the child.

    Found in North Carolina! Wow, that's at least 12 hours away from Birmingham. I'm so glad she is safe!
