More than three months ago, Stephanie Roof, 46, was shot to death in the driveway of her home on Pinecrest Lane in Lower Macungie Township. The mother of four — two teenage daughters living at home, two adult children — had just parked her sport utility vehicle early Sept. 13 after returning from work.

State police investigators canvassed the neighborhood, served several search warrants, and within days announced they developed a "person of interest" and the homicide investigation was "progressing nicely."

Three months later, no arrest has been made...

Sokolofski said he couldn't comment on the person of interest, but has said in the past that it is not Roof's live-in boyfriend or her most recent ex-husband.

How very frustrating that her death was ruled a homicide but still no arrest 5 months later.
 
It;s like this case has just been set aside. Zero news!
 
They know who did it. Not enough evidence to get a conviction.

I think you are right. I think they are playing possum...waiting for them to screw up so they have a legal reason to nab them. Just like they did with Horvath, in Holly Grim's case.

So they don't have the murder weapon and had to recreate the weapon to show a jury it was possible to kill her with it.
Makes sense now. They knew who did it but needed that "evidence".
 
Well, I didn't see that twist coming. A homemade gun! Perfect example of why they never release all the details.
