Anti-cop note found at scene of deadly Philly rampage; gunman identified

The man who went on a deadly shooting rampage in Philadelphia after he shot an officer in an ambush had 16 prior arrests and left at the scene a rambling note expressing hatred for cops, according to reports Saturday.
Philadelphia police said Nicholas Glenn, 25, was armed with a 9mm Ruger semi-automatic handgun when he killed one person and wounded five others, including two police officers, overnight Friday. He was shot and killed by cops in an alley shootout.

[FONT=&]The shooting happened at around 11:20 p.m. in West Philadelphia, a few blocks from the University of Pennsylvania campus.

[/FONT]As police gave chase, Ross said Glenn then fired 14 times into a car, striking a man and woman in the chest. The woman, 25, was hit seven times and was pronounced dead just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
Two police officers and 56-year-old Eddie Miller, a retired cop who is part of the University of Pennsylvania police force chased Glenn into an alley, where he was shot and killed. Miller was wounded.

Gunman in West PA shooting that killed one and injured 5 others, incl. 2 officers, identified
25-year-old Nicholas Glenn has been identified as the shooter. He had 16 prior arrests.
The injured officers have been identified as Sgt, Sylvia Young, 46, and UPenn Police Officer Eddie Miller, 56. Sgt. Young is a 19-year veteran of the force, and police say she was on a special assignment Friday night. Officer Miller is a retired Philadelphia Police officer who has been with UPenn Police for two years.
Police say Glenn fired 18 times into Sgt. Youngs vehicle. She was hit five times in the vest and three times in the arm.
Both officers were rushed to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where they were listed in stable condition. Early Saturday morning Philadelphia Commissioner Ross said both officers were up and speaking.
Four more civilians were also injured by gunfire during the suspects violent rampage, including one woman who was used as a human shield before being shot in the leg. Two more civilians were shot as the suspect fired shots at their car. A man and woman inside the car were both struck in the chest. The woman has since succumbed to her injuries, while the man remains in critical condition.
