Bump and prayers. This talented young man is friends with a family member of mine. I will help all I can though I am out of state. If anyone has questions I can defer to my family and perhaps if she has helpful info I can get her on here.

    Let's find Zac!!

Was he alone? Does he live in Boston and was only in NYC for the night?
    Did they check hospitals?

Thanks and hope he is found safe!

He was only visiting NYC. More details here:
Camhi, who suffers from bipolar disorder, vanished around 5 a.m. on Sept. 18 while staying at the W New York hotel at 541 Lexington Ave. in Midtown near E. 50th St., according to the “Find Zachery Camhi” page on Facebook.

The music student had returned to NYC from Allston, Mass., following a music competition to pick up a double bass instrument.

Is there video of him actually going into the hotel ? Was he alone or possibly followed ? Did he actually enter his room ?
The greatest trick the Devil ever played was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Three candles that illume every darkness: truth, nature, knowledge.

"There, isn't this a beautiful piece of cloth!", exclaimed the swindlers, as they described the lovely design that didn't exist.

So I see that he has been missing for 10 days at this point but not sure when the authorities were notified/how long they have been investigating. It appears that they are many businesses in the area from which he disappeared (https://www.google.com/maps/place/54...!4d-73.9722118), and I hope that LE have been able to obtain security camera footage from them. He was last seen at the hotel at 5 AM on the 18th, which was a Sunday, so I would think that would make it easier for the investigators to pick Zachery out than it would be had he gone missing at, say, 8:30 on a Monday morning.

Sam says his brother, an award-winning musician, may be disoriented and may not remember his name. He may even be speaking a foreign language.

Zac had similar episodes in Boston but has never been missing more than a few hours, his brother said.
“This time when he got lost, he didn’t have his wallet, he has no money, and he has no phone,” Sam Camhi said.

Sam Camhi says he and his wife have checked hospitals and churches. The NYPD has also issued a missing persons alert for Zac.

I dunno, a fugue state where he suddenly loses it and is walking around New York for days speaking another language would be unprecedented or at the very least exceptionally rare. Here is some information on this kind of event: http://theness.com/neurologicablog/i...orget-amnesia/

I'm not an expert on this kind of psychological or neurological disorder, but I think it would be difficult to have a highly functioning brain capable of "prodigiously" classical musicianship be disordered in such a way.

He certainly could have had a stroke, or been under the influence. I think it is more likely he is really bi-polar, as they have claimed, and has chosen to end his life.

I hope they find him soon, whatever the case, so his friends and family can stop suffering.

Zachery Camhi, 25, who was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder several years ago, had reportedly been at Bellevue Hospital the entire time.

Sources say he was unable to provide his name, and hospital workers had been unable to identify him.

    Very happy he is safe.

This happens quite often. Happened to someone I know. He was at Bellevue for a few days until family located him there.

I agree, and appreciate your mentioning this happening to someone you know and happening quite often. Some may wonder how he could go unidentified for over two weeks (even if Zac was unable to provide his name, a missing report had been filed, there were multiple major media stories and friends and families were mobilizing), so here is another example. About this time last year, I was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital (not Bellevue) during one of my depression "episodes." Another patient and I were just casually talking one day during art therapy when he confided in me that no one knew that he was there. He looked to be in his mid-30's and said he lived with his parents. A couple of weeks before, he thought he might be going into a manic phase (he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder years ago), when he got into his car and drove nine hours straight, at first aimlessly but eventually to the hospital. He said he had done something like this before and didn't think his parents would worry, but it has been a couple of weeks now -much longer than the prior episode- and was starting to wonder whether he should reach out to his family. I actually told him about the missing persons cases I follow on Websleuths, and that it would probably be a good idea to let his folks know that he was OK (the hospital number wouldn't show on their Caller ID), but I'm not sure if he did.

Wonderful news!! Thankfully he managed to get to a hospital quickly - I'm surprised it took this long but at least he is alive and getting help. We don't get to have such good outcomes enough!
