Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

In an 8 a.m. press conference, Langlade County Sheriff William Green told NewsChannel 7 the Saturday night search into Sunday morning was like "looking for a needle in a haystack." Green called the cornfield the boy was last seen in dense, making him hard to spot. However, the Sheriff is convinced the boy is somewhere in the field.

I am local to this one (about an hour away). Hope he's found safe & there's not more to it.
Article says 2 different shoes belonging to the boy were found but parents unsure if they were the shoes he was wearing at the time he went missing (paraphrasing).

Why don't they do a heat sensitivity from a helicopter??? Wouldn't that have been so much easier and quicker to find this little child?? I mean he's three! Not an older child that could possibly survive better. I've got a bad feeling about this one. I sure hope I'm very wrong! 😞

It seems odd that LE didn't start searching until 6 pm when he was last seen at 2 or 3 pm.

I don't even like my own much older kids going into the cornfields around here because it's so easy to get turned around.

Local Sheriff's Dept. https://www.facebook.com/LangladeSheriffsOffice has info on searches as well

If anyone is interested in assisting the Sheriff's Office in an ongoing search for a missing 3 year old please report to the old River Grove school (N5620 County Road H, Deerbrook WI). Please follow all instructions given there as we are coordinating with aerial and canine units and need full cooperation to keep this going smoothly. Thank you.

"Nine new search dogs will be brought in and use the shoes to get a scent on the possible whereabouts of the missing boy."
"Dogs were called in, however, officers said with the amount of people in the area that could have an affect on the accuracy.
Helicopters were also used as well as flair units to seek out heat sources. Officials said one roadblock they've encountered is heavy tree cover."

"He said an expert reassured his office that temperatures overnight were not a concern. The sheriff, however, called overnight conditions difficult for the choppers. He say it would be easier Sunday to bring in all searching resources."
"Search crews covered 400 acres, beginning Saturday night around 6 p.m. The cornfield the boy is believed to be in is 120 to 200 acres."

Jmo, but does this boy go wandering in said cornfield often that the shoes could be from a different time? Yikes.

The River Grove School is being used as a command center. The search resumed as of 5am Sunday. More dogs and a search helicopter are back at the scene.

I am not liking how this is going so far. I have a feeling the cornfield is a red herring. Now with a pair of shoes found, that may or may not be the ones he was wearing? I mean the parents don't know this answer? Who the heck lets a 3 year old ramble in a corn field often???? Also ... someone please tell me that this kid was being watched during the hour he went missing? Jesus am I just over protective? I don't think he's in that cornfield. 😞 With that many people searching and a tired 3 year old would be crying not long after he went missing. Someone would have heard him crying.

But...I'm so jaded now. Too many kids dying under suspicious circumstances.
