    WA - Evelyn Matsen, 34, & Wahren Agonoy, 13, slain, Bremerton, 4 Nov 2005

A man being sought in connection with the slayings of his estranged wife and her 13-year-old son had been arrested aboard a state ferry in Edmonds on Friday, the same day police believe the killings took place.

Kitsap County sheriff's investigators are working under the assumption that Bryan Matsen's arrest at 5:05 p.m. Friday came after Evelyn Matsen, 34, and her son, Wahren Agonoy, were killed in their East Bremerton home.

Bryan Matsen, arrested after ferry workers said they found him intoxicated and uncooperative, was released Saturday. The bodies were discovered at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?

Man Accused Of Killing Family Arrested On UNM Campus
Washington State Man Faces Murder Charges

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- University of New Mexico police have arrested a Washington state man accused of killing his wife and stepson.

Officers said they nabbed Bryan Matsen early Thursday morning after he called UNM police requesting assistance.

Police said Matsen went an emergency phone on campus looking for help because he was bleeding from superficial stab wounds.

But the cry for help turned into a major arrest for campus police.

    From November 2006:

Sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole Wednesday for their deaths, Matsen, 36, cried and hung his head often...

Matsen pleaded guilty on Nov. 1 to the crimes...

Hunko said Matsen had purchased the shotgun to take his own life. Bradley, however, said the shotgun's purchase soon after Evelyn Matsen had applied for a protection order from her husband showed a premeditated plan for the brutal murder.
