A Volusia County missing persons case is now a murder investigation
Marquez-Rivera disappeared in October. Several weeks later, her body was found in a wooded area off Broadway Avenue in Ormond Beach.
Investigators said her death is being treated as a homicide and that they have questioned Marquez-Rivera's ex-boyfriend, but no charges have been filed.
The victim's daughter told WESH 2 News her family members are still waiting for authorities to release her mother's body so they can bury her.

Ex-boyfriend arrested in death of Deltona woman reported missing in 2016
"Marquez-Rivera’s ex-boyfriend, Orlando Cruz-Romero, 49, of Puerto Rico, is facing a charge of second-degree murder, officials said. He remains in federal custody in Bayamon"
"Cruz-Romero had a history of violence toward the victim, had previously served time in Puerto Rico on homicide charges, and was wanted in Puerto Rico for violating his probation by leaving the island."
"Detectives said they believe Cruz-Romero killed Marquez-Rivera during an altercation at her home, sometime after 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, and then cleaned up the scene and drove to the wooded area, where he buried her."
