Hunters in Ogemaw County found 51-year-old Harold Wayne Brown's vehicle along a two-track near Skidway Lake at around 2 p.m. on Thursday.

The red Ford F-150 was running and empty. When hunters noticed the truck hadn't moved at 7 p.m. they called police.

...
A flashlight and a hat were found nearby.
*Family hasn't been heard from him since Wednesday night

*He suffers from depression and other health issues.

Ginger was found by troopers and returned to the family. Safe, I presume.

Ogemaw County man who went missing died of accidental drowning
By Cole Waterman | cwaterma@mlive.com updated October 22, 2016 at 5:33 AM

OGEMAW COUNTY, MI — Police have released a medical examiner's findings in the death of a Skidway Lake man whose body was found in the Rifle River days after he went missing.

Michigan State Police 1st Lt. Chris Luty said autopsy results indicate Harold W. Brown died due to drowning, and that the manner of death was accidental.

Rest in Peace, Harold Brown. :rose:

I see the news reported he died of accidental drowning, but his real cause of death was asphyxiation secondary to aspiration with no water in his lungs. He choked on his own bodily fluids. The family tried to reach out to all the news stations including mlive for comment, without reply. This case is closed, but a mystery none the less.
