For three decades, investigators were told that the 23-year-old Spahn, of East Dubuque, Ill., might have been buried underneath the pool after she disappeared in 1975. Officers never had enough evidence to warrant a search.

Spahn disappeared on Feb. 11, 1975, after she left a local lounge and was believed to be headed to a party. She was last seen about 2 a.m. walking with two men.

There was no evidence uncovered during demolition of a former hotel’s swimming pool that a woman was buried beneath it, police said.

Circumstances
Spahn disappeared on Feb. 11, 1975, after she left a local lounge and was believed to be headed to a party. She was last seen about 2 a.m. walking with two men.

For three decades, investigators were told that the 23-year-old Spahn, of East Dubuque, might have been buried underneath the pool at the former Best Western Dubuque Inn after she disappeared in 1975. Officers, however, never had enough evidence to warrant a search.

Developers now plan to build a Hampton Inn at the site. Planned demolition of the hotel began in mid-July 2005, and on August 3, a police investigator was on hand to observe whether Spahn's remains were under the pool. Besides excavation of the swimming pool, additional footage underneath and along the sides of the pool were excavated. Police stated that, ‘‘Nothing was found in the area excavated to indicate that Ms. Spahn had been buried there,’’

Here is what the Doenetwork has on her. Note the discrepancy between which state she disappeared from; Iowa vs Illinois. Two other girls disappeared from Iowa in 1975, as well.

From how it looks on a map the city is in Illinios and Iowa. The city appears to be a border city so the possiblilty of them being connected would be good.

It has been a year since anyone has commented on this case. Does anyone know of any updates?

I looked back at Doe and they have listed that the "two men" she left the bar with were found and refused to take polygraphs. Apparently it and Charley Project have the only info found -- just a bunch of mismatched stuff on google.

Sounds like the address that did not exist was a big red flag and the two men that she was last seen leaving with refused to take the polygraph,
They were the last ones to see her alive, I hope they were still investigated.
I wonder if the two men are still alive today??

I agree. These two are clearly responsible. The fact that the address didn't even exist is a big red flag. I mean, she may have died accidentally and they panicked, but the fake address indicates their intentions weren't good in the first place.
Of course they refused to take a polygraph test... I would like to know if any other women had a bad experience with them. Patricia's friend may know something else.
