Blunt force to head killed girl: police

LITTLE girl found dead in her central New South Wales coast home died from extensive head injuries caused by blunt force, police have revealed.Three-year-old Chanel Bisignani was found dead in her Gorokan home by ambulance officers responding to a triple-0 call at 11.30pm (AEST) on October 29.

Her private funeral was held in Sydney today, as police revealed Chanel died from extensive head injuries in suspicious circumstances.

A post mortem examination carried out in Newcastle revealed she died from blunt force trauma to the head, police said.

"Detectives have spoken with a number of people, including members of Chanel's family, and are continuing to investigate her death," police said. A 30-year-old man was initially questioned by police but was later released without charge.

So I think it's this case:

March 2009:

33-year-old man has been jailed for at least 20 years for drunkenly bashing his three-year-old stepdaughter for 20 minutes until she died.

Police documents tendered to the Supreme Court show the toddler was bashed mainly around her head at the family's home in Gorokan, on the New South Wales central coast, in October 2005.

The girl's body was left with hundreds of bruises and several stab wounds allegedly made by a bloody knife found at the scene...

The court was told a neighbour rang 000 and said, "He's got a little girl in there about three and she has been screaming for over half an hour".

"I can't understand what he's doing to the little child and he keeps screaming, 'Get up, get up'," she told the operator...

The man will be eligible for release in November 2025, when he will be 50 years old.
