“He has the biggest heart in the world,” said Sandra. “He takes care of everybody”

He was helping a friend move on September 26 and seemed really upbeat. He was going to meet with us on the Thursday when we were returning,” said Sandra. Her text messages on her return to Calgary went unanswered. She visited Fletcher’s apartment on the Friday and left a note on the door.

Five days later, Sandra returned to the apartment with members of the Calgary Police Service and discovered her note had not been removed. Despite the cold weather, the windows in the apartment were open and food left on the counter had spoiled.“He was helping a friend move on September 26 and seemed really upbeat. He was going to meet with us on the Thursday when we were returning,” said Sandra. Her text messages on her return to Calgary went unanswered. Fletcher Kimmel, missing since September, prompts appeal from Calgary police
November 10, 2016

Snipped...
"His disappearance is now being considered suspicious," said Insp. Don Coleman.

Originally from Brooks, where he still has family, police believe Kimmel was living in the Marda Loop area.

"Fletcher doesn't have a vehicle that we know of," said Coleman.

"He was last seen on foot, travelling, we believe, from the Whitehorn LRT to the 7-Eleven on 39th Avenue."

After reading this, I really really really hope it isn't a suicide... :(

Sandra says her son had fallen on hard times and she was helping him with his rent. Fletcher had lost his oil patch job in recent layoffs but managed to find employment in construction.

The construction job ended but Fletcher, a welder by trade, secured a job in his field. A freak accident that occurred while playing Frisbee left Fletcher with a broken foot and unemployed again.
“He’s the strongest person I know,” said Sandra. “He’s frustrated because he can’t find a job. He’s frustrated because his foot hurts and it’s not healing as fast as he wants it to. He worked in the oil patch. Everything moves fast in the oil patch and things are not moving fast enough for him right now.”

EDIT:

His mom Sandra said, “We believe that he is checking his messages because his inbox is emptied at times.”

Police are calling the death of a Calgary man suspicious after his body was found west of the city late last month...

The body of Fletcher Kimmel was found on Jan. 29, near the Jumping Pound Demonstration Forest, south of Highway 1...

In a previous news release, the RCMP said a civilian notified police he had discovered what he believed were human remains embedded in snow and ice in a remote area.

Did Fletcher show up to help his friends move, and was he seen after helping his friends move?

From the article linked in the opening post:

Attempts to contact Fletcher by phone have provided the Kimmel family with hope. “We believe that he is checking his messages because his inbox is emptied at times.”

Where is that phone now? Phone records should show if the phone was being used and who was being called. A cross-check of numbers might prove interesting.

The CPS missing poster shows him last seen Sept 27:

He apparently helped a friend move on Sept 26. Was he home on the night of Sept 26 after helping his friend move? Fletcher didn't have a vehicle but I would think there was one involved in moving his friend.

Police lay charges in death of Calgarian Fletcher Kimmel

Calgary police have charged a woman in relation to the death of Fletcher Kimmel, and say charges are pending against a man.

Stephanie Lee Outram, 33, of Calgary, has been charged with causing an indignity to a human body. A second woman who was arrested on Friday was released without charges.

A man believed to have used Kimmel’s bank card at a convenience store after his disappearance has been interviewed, and charges are pending, police said in a news release this morning.

Two women arrested in connection with Fletcher Kimmel death

Just days after an emotional plea from the mother of a 2016 murder victim, police have two people in custody.

Late Friday afternoon, Calgary police announced charges were pending against two women in connection with the death of 30-year-old Fletcher Kimmel, whose body was found near the Jumpingpound Demonstration Forest west of the city.

Stephanie Lee Outram, 33, has been charged with indignity to a human body. She was also arrested on 20 outstanding but unrelated warrants.
“That was the first step,” said Wozney. “This investigation is not closed. The investigation has picked up steam.”
Wozney said Kimmel and Outram met on a dating website—but he wouldn't specify which one.
“I don’t think that this relationship was very long in nature,” he said. <.....>

Court records obtained by Metro indicate that Outram has also been charged with shoplifting, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, uttering a forged document, possession of a stolen credit card, fraud, and more.

______
So very tragic, my heartfelt sympathy to Fletcher's family.

It doesn't explain how the male pictured above ended up using Fletcher's credit card. I hope that the family gets the answers they are seeking.

I was very surprised that I was not able to find any legal action against the man using Fletcher's bank card, especially as LE had said charges would be coming,
