MS - Dawson Hellar, 17, Pascagoula, 14 Oct 2016
Pascagoula Capt. Shannon Broome told the Sun Herald that Dawson Hellar, 17, left school grounds with his mother about 10:30 p.m. Friday. At some point, he brought his car back to the school and left it there.
Because they found Hellar’s car at the school with a note in it, police have listed Hellar as a runaway but don’t believe there was any foul play.

Story has changed. He did NOT leave with his mother:
Hellar was last seen leaving the campus late Friday, after he had uploaded his game footage from Resurrection’s homecoming game that night. The coaches were there and his mother was also on campus when he left at about 10:30 p.m. Friday. He did not leave with his mother. He was wearing blue jeans and a green hoodie with lettering on it.
He didn’t come home, and his mother reported him missing to police on Saturday. Police told the Sun Herald that they found his car still on campus at Resurrection, which is in downtown Pascagoula, across the street from the county courthouse and city hall.

Questions remain on why Dawson went to Seattle:
A Resurrection Catholic High School junior who went missing Friday may have been found safe, but the question remains: What was the 17-year-old doing 2,700 miles away in Seattle?
Dawson Heller was reported missing Saturday, after leaving his car at the school Friday night. Pascagoula police found a note in the car.
“We got word that Heller may have taken a Greyhound bus to Seattle,” police investigator Chris Meadows said. “And this information turned out to be true.”
The information also answered the question of what Hellar had been doing since going missing. The bus ride to the Emerald City takes about 3˝ days.
Meadows said he could not speculate on why Heller went to Seattle.
