Was missing teen swept into storm drain during heavy rain? Police and divers searching

A teenager who has not been seen since leaving a friend's house to walk home during the storm may have fallen down a storm drain, Nashua police fear.

Jacob Goulet, 16, was reported missing at 8:48 a.m. by a parent, police said. The parent had searched for the teenager, but did not find him.

The teenager was supposed to walk home Friday evening.

TYNGSBORO, Mass. A body was recovered from the Merrimack River Sunday afternoon as police continue to search for a teenager who went missing Friday night.

State Police said a police helicopter located a body floating in the river in Tyngsboro Sunday. Tyngsboro Fire and Nashua Fire worked together to recover the body. State police said the airwing stayed on scene until body was recovered.

A body spotted in the water in Tyngsborough is believed to be that of Jacob Goulet, who went missing Friday night and is presumed to have fallen into an open manhole cover. Official identification of Goulet is pending, but based on the clothing description and body condition, police believe it is 16-year-old Goulet.

The body, spotted from the air Sunday afternoon, washed up in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, which is just south of Nashua.

Nashua Police Department officials say it has received confirmation... that the body recovered from the Merrimack River in Tyngsborough on Sunday has been positively identified as 16-year-old Jacob Goulet, of Nashua.
