SC - Catherine 'Cati' Blauvelt, 22, murdered, Simpsonville, 24 Oct 2016

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Unfortunately, Cati has been found deceased.

A body was found in an abandoned home in the woods on Southeast Main Street in Simpsonville. The coroner is now calling it a homicide.

    Cati's car has been recovered:

Moore said the family believes Boyter-Blauvelt placed the call while in her black 2011 Ford Fiesta, which was unable to be found at the time of her death. The vehicle was later located on White Horse Road, according to Moore. A witness said she saw the vehicle at a self car wash near the 500 block.

He said the vehicle has been secured and is a positive discovery for the investigation.

On Thursday, Boyter-Blauvelt's mother released the following statement:
I would like to thank all our family, friends and strangers locally and from across the country who prayed, sent their loving thoughts and helped to spread the word of her disappearance. It is with a heavy and broken heart that it was confirmed that Cati died. Her death is being ruled a homicide. We take comfort knowing “Catibug” is in heaven with her nana and are confident law enforcement will bring Cati justice on earth. With that confidence, we want to focus on who Cati was, her short life and the woman we all knew and loved.
Cati’s arrival was quick. She was placed in my arms and has been on the move ever since. She had a beautiful soul and was loved by everyone she met. She cared deeply for her family and helped to fill our lives with love. She loved being an aunt to her nieces and bragged about finally being taller than someone, even though it was only her nephews. We will forever miss her bright eyes and incredible smile.
Cati never went anywhere without a book in her hand. Those who knew her best know that she was the number one Harry Potter fan. Our lives became filled with movie marathons of Harry Potter we had seen hundreds of times. Her room holds her favorite memorabilia, shirts, robes and wands. It should be no surprise to you Harry Potter fans that her Patronus was a sea turtle which she wore on her shoulder. Because of its seemingly wide eyed, carefree attitude the sea turtle is often thought to be the wisest of souls among the animal kingdom and that seemed to fit Cati to a tee.
Cati expressed the story of her life and her thoughts through tattoos. These quotes and symbols will remind you that she remained a child at heart and her love for magic. “Not all those who wander are lost,” from Peter Pan. “I go to seek a great perhaps,” The Phoenix and the Deathly Hallows from Harry Potter. Her love for the women in her family was represented by the flowers on her leg. She carried a heart with wings symbolizing love and freedom, an arrow that symbolized overcoming struggles and a lightning bolt she shared with her best friend.
Cati’s lifelong passion was her love for animals. If we had let her, we would have had a house full of animals, anything from a turtle to a horse. She enjoyed her job at Pet Smart and always looked forward to going in and playing with her “Fur Babies.” She loved taking “Twerp” (Taylor) to her poppy’s, listening to loud music the whole drive there and playing with her dog, Jupiter.
Those who were lucky enough to become friends with Cati had a friend for life and she truly enjoyed laughing, watching movies, going out to eat and having fun with each of you. You brought her joy through the ups and downs of being a teenager. Her Army battle buddies helped her face the challenges of boot camp with courage as she repelled through the obstacles and she was grateful you remained friends once she came home. The stories she told made us laugh and we appreciate you for that. I am sure there are many more stories that each of you hold dear. I have gotten great comfort reading all the comments that her friends have been putting on Social Media reminding us of why Cati was so Loved and Special. Many have asked what they can do for us. Please continue sharing the photos and stories of your memories with her, it is what continues to be most precious to us.
We will love and cherish you....

Marshals believe Blauvelt is traveling alone without a car and is likely hitchhiking or catching buses to travel. "He may be traveling south through California and staying close to the coast, but he could be anywhere along the west coast or within the country"...

He's described as 5 feet 8 inches tall weighing 185 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and has tattoos on his chest, left wrist and arm and right arm. Marshals say he has gone by Blue Blauvelt, John Bluefields, Vincent Mendoza and Victor Sacceti.

It is reported he is traveling with a military-style green camouflage back pack, and camps in local parks or areas that are known to be frequented by the homeless, the Marshal's service said.

Authorities say murder suspect may be on Oregon Coast

    http://www.currypilot.com/news/51782...y-be-on-oregon

Law enforcement agencies along the Oregon Coast are keeping an eye out for an Army deserter who has been charged with stabbing his estranged wife to death last October in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

“It’s possible he could be in our area,” Sheriff John Ward said Friday. “It (the flyer) says he likes to be close to the coast, but it doesn’t say he’s actually here. He may be traveling south through California and staying close to the coast. He could be on I-5, U.S. 101 or over in Texas — who knows?”

John Tufton Blauvelt, 28, is 5-feet-8, 185 pounds with brown hair and eyes and tattoos on his chest, right arm and left wrist and arm. He might be sporting a military-style green camouflage backpack.

Blauvelt also goes by aliases such as Blue Blauvelt, John Bluefields, Vincent Mendoza and Victor Sacceti. Port of Brookings Harbor officials have been alerted, said Manager Gary Dehlinger.

I hope he will be caught very soon. The way he took this young woman's/his wife's life was just pure horror.
