    VA - Rochelle Simms, 32, Fredericksburg, 25 Oct 2016

Rochelle Simms, 32, was last seen Tuesday at the Kenmore Club — a center that helps people living with mental illness.

“Simms was last seen at the Kenmore Club and last known to be in the area of 700 Sophia Street,” a Fredericksburg Police spokesperson said. “Simms was last seen wearing a blue long sleeved shirt and khaki pants. Simms does take prescribed medication which she does not have with her.”

There was a possible sighting at a Wawa (convenience store) in Stafford on October 26, but the first surveillance tape the police checked was blank, so they're waiting for another copy. No other leads right now.

Rochelle's family and friends have been handing out flyers in the area of the potential sighting and in downtown Fredericksburg.

[Rochelle's sister] and about 70 friends spent part of Friday handing out flyers and talking to people around downtown Fredericksburg.

“We feel she’s been kidnapped or abducted,” Simms–Klock said. “Not a single person she knows has seen her since [Oct. 25].”

This morning I received a text/email alert from the City of Fredericksburg's alert system with Rochelle's missing info, which means people are being reminded that she's still missing -- good for residents who don't go downtown as often and won't see as many flyers, I think.

No news; police have told the family there are no signs of foul play and are still reviewing surveillance footage to determine whether the Wawa sighting was Rochelle:

A woman reported that she may have seen Simms at the Wawa on U.S. 17 near the Interstate 95 exit in southern Stafford County after the disappearance was reported.

[Rochelle's sister] Simms–Klock said the woman told her she saw someone who looked like her sister in a black Suzuki SUV with Pennsylvania license plates. She said there was another woman in the vehicle and a man with them who appeared to have been panhandling at the busy intersection.

She still has not been located as far as I have heard . I was hoping she would have been found by now. I think LE should have issued a Silver alert for her.

It's been over a month and Rochelle is still missing. No new info.

A month has passed since a 32-year-old Fredericksburg woman was last seen or heard from by anyone who knows her.

    Nothing has changed.

Police said this week that Rochelle Renee Simms is still missing and that there have been no breaks in the case.
The article also mentions that police haven't reported finding anything of interest in the Wawa surveillance video: http://www.dailyprogress.com/starexp...dc229cd22.html

Christmas Day marks two months since anyone has heard from Rochelle Renee Simms, a 32-year-old woman with Asperger’s syndrome last seen in downtown Fredericksburg.

Police, still chasing leads but saying they have no solid ones yet, are now offering a cash reward for information that helps solve the disappearance of Simms...

Police have told the family there is no evidence of foul play, according to the missing woman’s sister. But she and the family believe Simms was kidnapped.

The body of the 32-year-old Fredericksburg woman who went missing six months ago was found in a heavily-wooded area in the city of Fredericksburg on Saturday.

Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Sarah Kirkpatrick said Rochelle Renee Simms’ body was discovered by a citizen who was relic hunting around 6:30 p.m.

The local paper posted an article about Rochelle's memorial service: http://www.fredericksburg.com/news/c...567784dff.html

Cris Simms said her daughter [Rochelle], a big fan of Disney cartoons, hosted movie nights at her apartment and would go out of her way to feed people she thought were hungry. She often walked around downtown Fredericksburg and enjoyed talking with people.

She liked to stroll through the antique shops and eat at her favorite restaurants. And she would often stop people walking their dogs downtown to ask about the animal and pet it.

“Rochelle lived with her heart in wide-open mode,” her mother told the crowd. “If you had a disability, Rochelle would take on your experience and walk down that road with you. Rochelle’s empathy allowed her to see that you were in need of a big bear hug. I called them ‘Chelle hugs, because no one could hug you like Rochelle.”

No new tips have come in, and the police have closed the case for now because the cause of death couldn't be determined: http://www.fredericksburg.com/news/c...2a0345ea2.html

Fredericksburg Police this week confirmed that the state medical examiner’s office could not determine how 32-year-old Rochelle Renee Simms died.

Since there is no known cause, the police department closed the case and categorized it as “non-criminal,” said spokeswoman Sarah Kirkpatrick.

“That doesn’t mean it’s closed indefinitely,” she added, saying that if new information comes up the case could be reopened.
