Found Deceased UK - Anita Stevenson, 39, Merseyside, 18 Oct 2016

Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a woman who has gone missing from her home in Wirral .

Anita Stevenson, 39, was last seen yesterday by her partner at their home address on Bebington Road, Birkenhead , just after 11.30am.

Anita is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, medium build, with shoulder length blonde hair and a pale complexion.

She was wearing black Nike leggings, a white t-shirt and a royal blue lightweight Adidas jacket when she was last seen.

It is believed that Anita has links to the Moreton area of the Wirral, having lived there previously, and she also has links to the Bradford area of West Yorkshire.

Anita’s family, and the police, are becoming increasingly concerned for her wellbeing and are appealing to Anita, or anyone who knows of her whereabouts to contact the police.

A 41-year-old man from Birkenhead has been arrested on suspicion of Anita’s murder, and is currently being questioned at a police station on Merseyside.

Police cars and a police van were parked outside the house, and a forensic tent had been placed outside the front door.

Ms Bhardwaj added: "The cause of death was cocaine toxicity and after a lot of DNA and forensic tests it showed that there was no evidence that Anita's fiancé had any involvement in her death."

Shortly before her disappearance, Ms Stevenson was spotted on the New Ferry by-pass by an off-duty police officer who was concerned for her safety and returned her to her Bebington Road home.

But she vanished again, which led to a search of the region’s waterfront area, by teams from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, the coastguard, and RNLI.
