Taney County issues call for tips about missing woman

The Taney County Sheriff's Department has issued an Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person. Amanda Hillhouse disappeared on Missouri 86 near Dogwood Canyon in Stone County at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 24.

Police believe she may be in danger as she was last seen exiting a car after a verbal argument.

Hillhouse is described as white, female, 5 feet six inches tall, 125 lbs, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and last seen wearing a black Adidas hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and zigzag patterned flip-flops.

She is still missing but no longer considered endangered:

FORSYTH, Mo. (KY3) - The Taney County sheriff's department said Tuesday that a missing woman is no longer considered endangered. It says there have been a couple of sightings of Amanda Hillhouse. One person reported seeing the woman in Forsyth.

My understanding from above article was 2 sightings one on the 24th(the day she went missing) and the other last Tuesday which would be the 25th. That was a week ago.
Does she maybe not have a permanent residence...since she is possible still missing but not endangered?

I guess they suspected her boyfriend was lying until they got evidence she is alive? I hope she is ok, contacts her family soon and breaks it off with her boyfriend without incident.

Me too. Witnesses could be paid to say they saw her. I would feel better if there was video of her (or she was talked to by the police). I mean, it has been 6 days. Where is she staying? How much money does she have?

A woman who rents a downtown Forsyth building says she saw Amanda Hillhouse's picture on social media and believes it's the same woman she saw coming out of an enclosed patio last Tuesday. She believes she was camping out there.

So did she live with the boyfriend and is now homeless camping on an enclosed patio.
Where are her children?

Do we have any background info on her? I tried googling but didn't get far. Her brother reported her missing, so I assume she has some family in the area. Why hasn't she turned to them?

The official identity of the victim is pending dental comparison with those of Amanda Hillhouses dental records.

Chief Forensic Pathologist Dr. K. Norton stated the autopsy results concerning the cause of death was consistent with that being self-inflicted strangulation

This is sad news no matter who it is but it's really sad if it's Amanda considering on Nov 1 they said they longer considered her endangered and there had been several sightings of her. Did she live on the street for several weeks before taking her life or were the witnesses mistaken in seeing her? Just sad.
